A Buoy

I stumbled onto this song on Spotify the other day shortly after I received the news that one of my son’s 8-year-old classmates passed away after a 591-day fight with brain cancer.

The news is a mess, the world is a mess, we are a mess, I am a mess. This song has been a buoy opening up some opportunities to feel ok.

  1. GREAT song with a great message. It’s just been so hard lately to deal with everything, hasn’t it? I opened a Bible reading plan through YouVersion called Summer Adventure: 5 Day Reading Plan. There is also a book associated with it which I’ve put on hold. But today’s reading was about singling out days on your calendar just for joy. Just for family. Just for happiness. We book doc appts left and right but we don’t book days to just BE. So I did that with m y calendar and I am now looking forward to those days. It’s something.

    2. I love this idea. I think I’ve unconsciously kind of been doing this, but I need to be more overt about it.
